Today's Webtip: EODM

The band talks about the attack and makes a challenge for others who want to help the victims, survivors, and their families.

Tragödie vom Bataclan: Interview mit einer Konzertbesucherin

#parisattacks: Mehr zu den Terroranschlägen in Paris

I didn't hear about the terrorist attacks in Paris until I got an SMS form a friend. "I'm alright".

Immediately following that message I started getting messages form colleagues, and headed online to start trying to follow what was happening. When I realised that the band playing the Bataclan that night was the Eagles of Death Metal, my heart sank even further than it already had. I'm a huge fan of Jesse, and have been impressed by his humility, enthusiasm, and his ability to openly express his love for those around him.

I'm sure you know about the events that followed, so I will skip that and get to the point. The band have given an interview to Vice, and I think it's important not because of the stories about what happened in the theatre, but because of the humanity they display, the empathy, the sadness, but most importantly their hopefulness in making a challenge to help, rather than a challenge to hurt more.

Take up their challenge.

To quote the band,
"Vive la musique, vive la liberté, vive la France, and vive EODM."
