• Obama in Berlin

US President, Barack Obama is on his last official trip to Europe. He was in Greece and is now in Berlin. He’s using the trip to calm fears about his successor, Donald Trump and reassure Europeans about America’s commitment to NATO as well as stress the importance of the democratic process. Reality Check speaks to Matthew Karnitschnig, chief Europe correspondent at Politico.

• Morocco

The recent death of a fish vendor in Morocco as police were confiscating his catch has led to days of street protests and revived worrying memories of the Arab Spring of 2011. Aida Alami is a Moroccan journalist who writes for the New York Times. She gives is her take on the current political situation in the North African country.

• Sanctuary cities

If you’ve not heard of “sanctuary cities” before then get ready to hear more about them over the next weeks and months. Declaring itself a sanctuary city is a tool being used by progressive cities across America to push back against Donald Trump’s plans to deport millions of illegal immigrants. Randall Stephens, Professor of History and American Studies at Northumbria University in the UK, explains.

• Emmanuel Macron

Emmanuel Macon, a 38 year old former French economy minister, is throwing his hat into the ring for next year’s presidential election in France. The former socialist is trying to shake things up by running as an independent but many believe that his candidacy could help Marine Le Pen of the National Front into the Élysée Palace. Reality Check finds out more from our Paris correspondent, Catherine Field.

• OSCE observes Austria’s presidential election

The OSCE (Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe) is sending four observers to monitor Austria’s upcoming presidential elections. Many people believe such observers are only sent to countries that have a questionable record when it comes to the democratic process but, as political analyst Melanie Sully explains, this is not the case.

Die Grünen wollen Marc Zuckerberg und Facebook anzeigen und berufen sich damit auf den in Österreich neuen Cybermobbing Paragraphen. Wie es bisher mit der rechtlichen Handhabe aussieht, fragt Lukas Lottersberger bei Barbara Buchegger von Safer Internet nach, beim Juristen Max Schrems und bei Facebook.

So schaut die Nacht der lebenden Toten bei Regisseur Virgil Widrich aus. In "Die Nacht der 1000 Stunden" kehrt die Verwandschaft einer österreichischen Unternehmerfamilie aus dem Totenreich zurück. Die Familie muss sich der eigenen Vergangenheit stellen, es wird eine turbulente und mysteriöse Nacht im Wiener Palais. (Pia Reiser)
