St. Pierre et Miquelon are two tiny islands, located off the coast of Canada's most eastern region, the island of Newfoundland. What makes them special is that they belong to France - indeed, they are France's last remaining outposts in the entirety of North America. But in a world where much of the commercial fishing that used to define such places has been banned, what purpose can the islands now serve?

This week's Reality Check Saturday Special visits both St. Pierre and Miquelon, and finds our restless travel columnist Johnny Bliss in conversation with locals whose families have lived there for generations already, as well as new French migrants who have moved over from the mainland in the hope of finding a different way to experience their own French identity.

Die Filmemacherin Agnieszka Holland war mehrmals für den Oscar nominiert und hat seit den 70er Jahren an zahlreichen Projekten, in Europa und den USA gearbeitet. In den Vereinigten Staaten führte sie Regie für Serien wie „The Wire“ und „House of Cards“, die für ihren qualitativ hochwertigen Zugang zu komplexen Themen gelobt wurden. Daneben beschäftigt sich Holland, die auch Vorstandsvorsitzende der europäischen Filmakademie ist, mit der Frage, inwiefern die Serienwelt die echte Realität beeinflusst. Und ob Frank Underwood in „House of Cards“ die politische Karriere von Donald Trump erst möglich gemacht hat. (Christoph Sepin)

Der aus Tirol stammende Georg Hobmeier hat Schauspiel studiert und bereits in den 90er Jahren Bühnenperformances mit technologischen Themen in Verbindung gebracht. Ende der 2000er Jahre hat er als Mitglied der Salzburger Künstlergruppe gold extra maßgeblich am Games-Projekt “Frontiers” mitgewirkt, ein Computerspiel zum Thema Flucht und Migration. Seit 2014 betreibt Hobmeier mit Causa Creations mit einem Partner ein eigenes Gamestudio. Wie kommt man vom Schauspiel zu Technologie? Wie von Kunst zum Serious Game? Robert Glashüttner mit einem Porträt eines vielseitigen Gestalters, Designers und Künstlers.
