Dj Marfox (Principe/ Lisboa) ist der König des “Ghetto Sound of Lisboa”, oder einfach Kuduro. Wir sind spätestens seit Buraka Som Sistema infiziert von den afro-portugiesischen Beats mit den globalen Wurzeln. Sehr lesenswerte Story übrigens hier auf Resident Advisor. Vor seinem Gig im Opera Club (Wien) wird Dj Marfox uns seine persönliche Geschichte erzählen und live auflegen.

This can work in all of Latin and North America, in Asia and, of course, in Europe. This music has been brewing for centuries, through the slave trade, through immigration, and now through digital technology. Selbstbeschreibung: Inspiriert von Djs wie Mathias Tanzmann, Monika Kruse und Richie Hawtin bringt sein deeper, technoider Sound jedes Publikum zum tanzen und abgehen. Tiefe, satte Basslines kombiniert mit verspielten, schnellen Höhen animieren auch noch die letzte Hüfte zum mitwackeln. Mehrere Gigs bei elektrocafe, y-club, Alpfresco und Hand & Fuss und seiner eigenen Partyreihe " Druckausgleich" können das eindrucksvoll belegen."

Ferenc Nagy (Flashback Signals/Hamburg) - Never found love Mix
Inzwischen hat es sich wohl bis Hamburg rumgesprochen, dass man bei La boum de luxe auch mit total weirden, völlig neben der Dj-Spur liegenden Mixes landen kann. (Zumindest wenn Heinz Reich hier am Steuer ist). Was Ferenc Nagy uns da geschickt hat, ist definitiv kein Dj Futter. Dazu kann niemand tanzen - nicht mal horizontal. Dazu kann man höchstens mit feuchten Augen den Mond anstarren, beim Fenster rausheulen oder den Polster knuddeln. Die Musikauswahl ist aber so berückend schön, dass es unser Bildungsauftrag verlangt, euch vergnügungssüchtige Tänzerleins mit diesem Gesamtkunstwerk zwangszubeglücken. Wie schon im Jänner beim „La boum de luxe Liederabend" werden viele verständnislos die Hände überm Kopf zusammenschlagen. Aber eine kleine Minderheit wird vor Glück strahlen. Und wie sagen wir immer: Viel Feind‘, viel Ehr‘!
