Sänger Thom Burke und zwei weitere Mitglieder der Citizens! waren zuvor bei der Band Official Secrets Act, die ein Album veröffentlichte und in Großbritannien kurz als ein next big thing gehypt wurde. Jetzt nehmen Thom Burke und Co noch einmal Anlauf, ganz ohne Hype. "Here We Are" heißt das Debutalbum des britischen Quintetts, das sie zusammen mit Alex Kapranos von Franz Ferdinand im Produzentensessel einspielten.
