Reality Czech: The view from Prague
President Obama flies into the Czech Republic on Saturday but Prague hasn't exactly been swooning over his bailout plans. In fact the Czech Prime Minister has condemned US economic recovery plans as "the road to hell". And the Czech President has called climate change "a myth." In normal circumstances their opinions would matter little but the Czech Republic currently holds the rotating presidency of the EU. Are the Czechs not only out of step with Barack Obama but the rest of Europe as well? And what sort of reception will the US President get in Prague? Reality Check's Chris Cummins reports from the Czech Republic and speaks with international experts, Czech artists and ordinary people to find out what they make of their last 5 years in the EU and their economic futures.

Der einzig richtige Gast am Palmsamstag kommt uns unerwartet besuchen: Kurt Palm, Regisseur, Filmemacher, Mozartkenner,böse Zunge und seit zwei Jahren auch Standard- Kolumnist, stellt heute abend sein neues Buch "Palmsamstag- der schönste Tag der Woche", eine Sammlung ebendieser Kolumnen, in einer Lesung im Rabenhof Theater vor. Vorher kommt er ins Connected Studio und erklärt uns so einiges.

"Mädchen lasst uns Bands gründen!" Unter diesem Motto veranstalten die beiden Musikerinnen Theresa Adamski (Lady Lynch / Upperclass Shoplifters) und Lina Gärtner (Lady Lynch) Samstag Abend im Grazer Forum Stadtpark ein frauendominiertes Musik- und Kunstfest. Bands wie Luise Pop (Wien), Supernachmittag (Graz), The Mean Machine (Wien), eine Theateraufführung, eine Fotografieausstellung und vieles mehr soll zeigen, dass auch Frauen das Zeug dazu haben Bands zu gründen und mit ihrer Musik erfolgreich sein können. Linz09: "Extra Europa" (Roli Gratzer) Linz steht derzeit ganz im Zeichen von Norwegen. Im Rahmen der Festivalreihe "Extra Europa" sind derzeit rund 40 Künstler aus dem Norden unseres Kontinents zu Gast in der Kulturhauptstadt. Kuratiert wird der Schwerpunkt von der internationalen Gruppe Pikene pa Broen, zu deutsch: Die Mädchen auf der Brücke. Heute steigt der letzte Teil des sogenannten Transborder Cafes. Das bunte Programm am Abend befasst sich mit der Kultur der Sami. Roland Gratzer hat mit Luba Kuzovnikova von Pikene pa Broen gesprochen.

Der momentane Output an Tanzmusik ist saisonal fast schon üblich, ich weiß gar nicht, was ich zuerst spielen soll. Im Winter wird zuhaus geschraubt, im Frühling quellen Harddisks und Plattengeschäfte über. Leute wie Tino M. (grade mal 17 Jahre alt) hauen Produktionen raus, dass man sich fragen muss, wann die eigentlich schlafen. Beweisführung ab 19 Uhr, die heutige Sendung wird mixtapeähnlich, ein Freudenfest. Die Rubrik "My Definition" kommt von der Uez Racing Division, mit dem ich kommende Woche sowohl den Weekender Club in Innsbruck (Freitag), als auch das Conrad Sohm in Dornbirn (Samstag) bespielen werde.
