Today's Webtip: Second Amendment Solution
You might have heard the headlines about Mr. Trumps most recent bit of bloviation.
Some people found that to have overstepped a few boundaries. Why?
Well, in the States, a lot of people interpret the second amendment to be a form of insurance against a corrupt or undemocratic government. That idea is frequently repeated in a paraphrase of a quote from a South Carolinan senator from the 1830's "There are three and only three ways to reform our Congressional legislation, familiarly called, the ballot box, the jury box and the cartridge box".

Obey
This has more recently been condensed into something referred to as Second Amendment Remedies. That was a phrase made most famous by Nevada Tea Party member Sharron Angle’s comment that “if congress keeps going this way, people are looking for 2nd Amendment remedies”
In other words, armed revolt.
Needless to say, a few people who still remember the Gabrielle Giffords shooting find this a bit troubling. Gifford was one of the U.S. Representatives whose district was singled out with a crosshair in a graphic used by Sarah Palin.

Palin
She was shot in the face by Jared Lee Loughner. Six people died in that event and one other was injured. No direct connection was ever established between the rhetoric and Laugher's actions, but it did sensitise some people to the use of violent rhetoric in U.S. politics.
Something that has been increasingly common with mainstream politicians. No, Trump was't the first to go there. But he might be the one with the most influence and broadest platform.
Anyway, for a couple of different perspectives on what went down and peoples reactions to it I suggest you take a look at crooksandliars.com and for the Trump supporters take (I cant believe I am doing this) read the comments at www.breitbart.com
