Today's Webip: Egolizer

And you thought Facebook was an ego-wank before...

I have a terrible memory. Most things I had to learn by rote in school has long since disappeared in a black hole only to be replaced by obscure fragments of useless information I can't remember acquiring.

But a few things stuck with me. Odd lines of poetry or the occasional soliloquy for example. Or the simple sentence, "Hell is other People". In the mid 80's I found that an interesting concept. Now, in the mid teens, I am living it.

So what does that mean? According to a really weird philosophy site (selling keywords to betting portals is a pretty strange business model):

“If there is an Other, whatever, wherever, whatever its relationship with me … I have an outside, my nature, my original sin is the existence of the other“(Being and Nothingness, p. 321)

The only defense that man has at his disposal is to transform others, to turn into an object. We must get rid of others, to escape to reclaim yourself and the world that other people stealing them. Consciousness invents this subterfuge to continue to exist as a subject. Yet another attempt to resist this attempt to subordinate. This opens a struggle of conscience.

But don't worry, that extra special hell we have created and partaken in can be annulled. It's as simple as a browser plug in. Egolizer.
