Today's Webtip: Seeing Through Photographs
So, now that everyone and their dog (and a few cats) are photographers, it might be time to up your game from just documenting the moment, and understanding what makes a photograph "art".
And that is sort of what a new, free, online course wants to do. Well, I don't actually know if the goal is to help you become an artist, but they do want you to improve your visual literacy. And that can't be all bad...
The Museum of Modern Art, has put together a six session course based on photographs in the museums collection.
"This course aims to address the gap between seeing and truly understanding photographs by introducing a diversity of ideas, approaches, and technologies that inform their making."
Registration for the next round opens on Apil 18th. There will apparently be homework, grades, and a final project.
