Today's Webtip: Ancient Movie
I just ran across a recording of what appears to be one of the oldest sound film experiments in existence. It features W. K. L. Dickson, an engineer who worked for Edison playing the violin while two men dance.
It was made in 1895 and the sound was recorded on a wax cylinder. The film and cylinder got separated at some point, ending up in two different museums. The audio and film were eventually synced in 2000, and this recording has been online since 2012.
