Today's Webtip: Tim Miller
Tim Miller just became a very well known person. Not that he is new to the movie business or anything, but until the merc with a mouth hit the screens, he was mostly known for more behind the scenes stuff.
Like title sequences.
Or animated clips. Like the work he did with Marvel to help newer audiences get up to speed with less well known heroes.
Iron Man, for example.
Yes, believe it or not, back before shellhead hit the big screen Marvel was concerend because research showed that kids those days had no clue about the man behind the mask. Or even the mask for that matter. So they decided to make some "advertorials" in order to explain things to the kids. And they went to Blur studios for that. Blur was a visual effects, animation and design studio.
And that's how Tim Miller got to direct a super hero short. Well, three really short shorts.
Joe Quesda is an artist working with Marvel who was tasked with the project. You can read all about the background in a post he made to his Tumblr (which is also worth checking out if you are a comic fan)
