Today's Webtip: Help make the Maker Faire
I'm pretty excited. Even though I have sort of dropped out of the whole maker scene since the end of my own project, I keep following what other people are doing and dream of jumping back in some day.
And it looks like that day is getting really close. Because the incredibly rich Austrian hands-on types are going to have an excuse to come together in April.
The Maker Faire is coming to Austria.
makezine.com-projects have been web tips a couple of times, and their general encouragement of D.I.Y. has certainly been an inspiration to a lot of people all over the place. One of the ways they spread that love is through Maker Faires. Some smaller, some larger, some absolutely insane (in Italy, I believe).
Anyone working on a project, or teaching skills, or selling kits, or just generally doing maker stuff is encouraged to participate. Unlike most conventions, this one doesn't charge for space on the floor. It really does seem to be a service to the community, and quite a few of the familiar names are already supporting it.
And now you can too.
