Today's Webtip: Hüsker Dü

An interesting live show from 1981 that catches their change in direction.

As a dedicated fan of local music, I was serisouly surprised (and a bit overjoyed) to find out that people in Austria knew and enjoyed Hüsker Dü. They were our local giants in the 80's and listening to their music still manages to evoke a pang of homesickness.

But the sound they ended up with, and the sound they started out with, are pretty different. And it turns out that someone caught the transition on video. They played a double set at the 7th street entry in 1981 that starts out with their standard sound of the time, and ends up with the sound of Diane.

And if you want to find more ancient videos of just as ancient bands, check out the website killthatcat.com.

They have footage from 1989 Faith No More, 1983 Minor Threat, 1990 Nirvana and Nine Inch Nails, and sooooooooo much more.
