Today' Webtip: Star Wars PSA's
In the States, commercial television stations will carry a form of advertisment meant to address issues in the public interest. I guess it's sort of like a form of penance for their frequently terrible programming and blatantly consumerist bent. And for the 20 minutes worth of commercial time in a standard broadcast hour.
Those things have almost always been unwatchable. Especially for the audience they were usually produced for. Even when they used favourite figures from hallowed childhood media properties. Like Star Wars.
They DO have a certain something though...
I never understood why R2D2 and C-3PO would be hanging out discussing vaccines in what looks like a death star control room, but it seems they did.
I guess we can excuse the smoke filled bar in this one. I mean everyone knows that in "Mos Eisley Spaceport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious." And remember:
And finally, one that doesn't feature any Star Wars characters, but DOES hit on some issues that could be important for parents of future Star Wars fans.
