Today's Webtip: An answer to a question

Why staying in neighbouring countries doesn't cut it for Syrian refugees, and one way to help them in the camps.

One question that keeps coming up in discussions online and in person is why refugees don't want to stay in the first safe country they come to. The answer is pretty simple.

It sucks.

The World Food Program has run out of money to feed people in the camps, refugees aren't allowed access to local job markets, and they are frequently facing violence and aggression in the countries hosting them.

But don't trust me. You can read about it at thinkprogress.org

And for those who want to help refugees who are still in the camps, the WFP is accepting donations. give.wfp.org
