Today's Webtip: Every Noise at Once
Musical genres are complex things. They change faster than the speed of sound, get muddied up and seem to be rather subjective.
And if you haven't been paying attention to them, they are almost impossible to keep up with.
But there are some tools to help. And those tools are pretty fun even if you don't actually care about sticking your favourite band into the most appropriate shoebox.

Every Noise at Once
everynoise.com is a visualisation of the data collected by a company trying to makes computers more intelligent about music. The company behind it seems to be one of those big data cops specialising in music. The rise of digital music sales and streaming, and the role the play in new music discovery and advertising has made this thing a pretty massive business.
But the business side isn't THAT interesting. Playing around with the results, on the other hand, is.
