With school term starting in many parts of Austria on 7th September, what’s going to happen to the several thousand refugee children who should be going to school?
The authorities will have to respond to the challenge of finding enough school places and adequate staff, not just to teach them, but to be able to help with learning German, and providing psychological support for youngsters weighed down by the traumatic experiences of their long, often perilous, journeys.

The job of overseeing the integration of refugee children into Austria's school system has been given to the veteran Greens politician, Terezija Stoisits. How well is she qualified for the job and what are the main challenges?

Refugees in Budapest & Munich
Since the authorities in Hungary stopped refugees boarding trains to travel to Austria and Germany, large crowds have been camped outside the east railway stations in Budapest.
