Today's Webtip: Science behind the Hoverboard

A behind the scenes look at the science of silent skating.

Last month Lexus landed a home run with their viral video of a hoverboard in action. I have no idea how a nerd dream come true is supposed to sell luxury cars, but that video certainly went global in a mass of posts and reposts.

I even played with the idea but couldn't come to terms with the idea of embedding advertising.

But now they have another video featuring interviews with he engineers behind the project, and it is just too interesting not to share. I mean, listening to a german engineer explain the self-contained superconducting skateboard is just too good to pass up on.

So head on over to nerdist.com where the impatient can get a quick read about the hows and why's, while the somewhat more patient can enjoy the full glory of a mad scientist style accent explain the science.
