Blowing his own Trump-et
Republican debate
Today sees the first televised debate between the top 10 Republican candidates for the presidential nomination.
Of the 17 declared candidates, 7 will not take part, and it's generally thought that missing out on this debate will eliminate them from the race.
The top 10 include representatives from all platforms and positions in the party, and this is their first opportunity to set out their stalls in a nationwide broadcast.

The front runner going into the debate is billionaire business magnate, Donald Trump: loud, populist, divisive, no political experience, but appealing to a certain section of the public. His performance is expected to be forceful, and controversial. But who else is in the frame?
Joe Remick explains which names will be the ones to watch for, and why.
