Russia has submitted a claim to the United Nations for additional territories in the Arctic.

Global warming is opening up more and more of the Arctic to exploration and exploitation, with a new geo-political crisis looming and countries try to claim its natural resources.

If approved, it would put over a thousand oil, gas and gold fields in Russian territory. United Nations analyst, Andreas Zumach, explains the process for such a claim, and why this particular claim is unprecedented.

Gerd Brandstätter of the gay rights organisation LAMBDA explains the motivation and aims of the citizens' initiative "Ehe Gleich", which is being presented to the Austrian parliament today.

The initiative demands equal rights for equal love, and it has been supported by people of all ages and backgrounds across Austria.
