Checking facts and chewing bubblegum. Ok, they don't actually chew bubblegum.

www.kobuk.at was a webtip almost exactly five years ago.

After taking part in a conference about media literacy and schools, it occurred to me that it's something that needs to be pushed even more. The project has produced some excellent articles, and it is providing some of the most consistent media analysis for Austrian media I have been able to find.

Media literacy gets quite a bit of hype, but it seems as though the practical developments have been lagging. Something which just shouldn't be happening considering the state of the world today.

If you consider media literacy to be the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, and create media, that our ability to access and create has grown exponentially, but the analysis and evaluation could use some more work. Despite some positive developments in that area in the last decade, there is still a lot to be done.

One of those things would be to spread the word about www.kobuk.at
