Europe’s migrant crisis

An emergency summit was held at the Austrian interior ministry on Friday, a day after the announcement of a controversial plan to set up tent camps to accommodate increasing numbers of migrants arriving in the country.

Asia’s migrant crisis

In a spiralling humanitarian crisis in Southeast Asia, several thousand refugees from Bangladesh and Myanmar, fleeing poverty or persecution, are believed to be adrift on boats in the Andaman Sea Thailand. Tony Cheng reports from Bangkok.

Burundi

Authorities in the southeast African country have arrested three generals for their role in an attempted coup. President Pierre Nkurunziza, who had been in Tanzania, says he is now back in the country and is expected to make a national address. Gabe Joselow reports from Bujumbura.
