John Oliver might have found the way to curtail the NSA.

Have you ever tried to have a discussion with anyone about the Snowden leaks, the NSA, or the Patriot Act?

Ok, as Austrians you might not have thought you had a reason to talk about the Patriot Act, but it turns out that that massive piece of stealth legislation helped pave the way for a lot of the fun the NSA has been having at the worlds expense. In a recent Last Week Tonight, John Oliver turned his gaze to the Patriot Act, which is set to be renewed (or maybe not) in a little while.

To help shed some light on why ending at least parts of that law might be important, he decided to put himself on a watch list and fly to Russia to interview Snowden.

The result might be the best way possible to help people understand why total surveillance could be something worth thinking about. It turns out that although most Americans don't care if someone is slurping up data about the rest of us, they aren't quite as comfortable with the idea that secret agent men might be laughing at their private parts...
