get up to date on the state of the expanded universe with a little help from io9

So the next Star Wars properties are set to drop this year.

Are you nervous? Convinced the whole thing is doomed? Overjoyed about J.J. Abrams? Afraid of the might of the mouse?

I am. I'm also just a bit unsure of what's canon and what isn't. I missed out on most of the extended universe, never read any of the additional books, and missed most of Clone Wars.

But thanks to a concise article at io9 I have a way to start getting back up to speed.

The io9 Guide to Star Wars is short and sweet and has a surprisingly refreshing comment section that (last I checked) included some very polite discussion about a subject that can get pretty crazy at times.
