Iran nuclear talks: Deadline

A self-imposed deadline to reach at least a framework agreement on Iran’s nuclear programme runs out tomorrow night. Negotiations have been extremely difficult and some important issues still remain unresolved. We look at the possible consequences of failure to reach a deal and at how much effect the political and military situation in the region as a whole may be having on the talks.

Arab League: Joint intervention force

A two-day meeting of the Arab League in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh at the weekend has ended with an agreement to form a joint Arab intervention force to tackle Iran-backed militias in Yemen. We look at the significance of this decision and at who will be calling the shots.
