Reality Check: Israeli elections, subsidiary protection, Iran talks, Brazil protests, Elton John vs. D&G

Israeli elections

Israel goes to the polls in what is expected to be the most tightly contested election in the country's history.

Benjamin Netanyahu's controversial election campaign, which saw a widely criticised anti-Iran speech to the UK Congress, will now be put to the test - and it seems likely be may have mis-judged the market. According to polls, only 20% of Israeli's say that national security is a major issue. Most people are more concerned about housing, jobs, and the cost of living, something Netanyahu's main rival, Isaac Herzog, has been tapping into.

These elections may prove, once again, that it's "the economy, stupid!"

Isaac Herzog could become the new face of Israeli politics. A liberal, left wing agenda and a focus on the economy could draw the voters disillusioned with Bibi Netanyahu.
