Well, not JUST 50's.

Antholojam
The Antholojam was created by Zöe Quinn and Alex Lifschitz in an attempt to get around one of the huge problems of traditional game-jams. Too much suckage.
Rather than bundling a bunch of people together into a space for a couple of days, they decided to invite certain teams to take part, and gave them a full month to develope their ideas. Ideas that needed to be based on a golden age sci-fi theme.
They promised that the games would "not be shitty to anyone".
A brassy boast, but I'm still not sure that they managed their goal. Still, the games I have played so far have been pretty good, and although the writing might not have been up to snuff for a commercial product, the ideas behind them did a pretty good job of keeping to the theme.
Since this was the first of what should hopefully be a series, I'm going to cut the crew some slack and say that I think it's really something worth supporting.
