How did I miss him?
A giant blind composer living and begging on the streets of NYC? Dressed as a Viking? A man who influenced the very beginnings of rock and roll, beat culture, and hippies?
The man who wrote Birds Lament?
I don't know. I guess I wasn't paying attention. But I just ran across a lovely portrait of him that has rectified the situation.
