Tens of thousands of people across Russia have taken part in a rally in honour of opposition leader, Boris Nemtsov, who was shot dead on Friday.

The Kremlin has promised a full investigation into the shooting, which occurred amid an atmosphere of heightened tensions over the war in Ukraine.

Our Moscow correspondent, Charles Maynes, was at the rally and spoke to the people mourning one of President Putin's most outspoken critics.

Eugenics in the USA

The US state of Virginia has become the second to offer compensation to people sterilised under the state's eugenics programme in the 20th century. Historian, Mitchell Ash, explains how the programme operated.

Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, starts his controversial trip to the United States today.

The visit is at the invitation of the Republicans, and will not include an official meeting with President Obama.
