Today's Webtip: Selectbutton

a site about games, and what they could be.

I don't really know how to describe Selectbutton. It is a throwback to a much older web, one before blogs and social networks and such fluff.

It seems to be a community, based around a forum that presents itself in a blog format. That also features a podcast.

But what it is, is less important than what is on it.

And that would be a post that grabbed my attention and maintained it with a very firm grip.

A Maze of Murderscapes: Metroid II
is a rather long look at an ancient classic. It's a review and a request, rolled up in one. An excellent example of why and how reviewers, game makers and players should want to see gaming continue to develop as an artform.

It's an excellent read.

I'm not certain about the rest of the site yet, but I'm working my way through it.
