Today's Webtip: 2014 in Review
It certainly has been an interesting year.
Particularly for the more tinfoil hat types who have been able to enjoy a bucketload of "I told yo so"'s. As someone with a rather loose-fitting hat, I would really rather have preffered to be a bit more surprised by the developments in 2014. Total Information Awareness never really died, we now know that the whole planet has been p0wned, digital and human rights have been under increased attack and super secret treaties about things like copyright and international trade feel like the baddies in a zombie shooter.
The Electronic Frontier Foundation is one of those groups that have been doing their best to keep the good fight going, raising awareness on these issues and taking the fight to court when possible. Their end of the year wrap-up is a must for anyone interested in a free and open internet.
They currently have a series up, and I think they are all worth a read. But if you are short on time make sure to check out What We Learned in 2014 about NSA Spying and What We are Fighting to Expise in 2015.
You can find the whole series here.
