Today's Webtip: Christmas in the Stars
Hardcore Star Wars fans most likely associate Star Wars and Christmas with that horrible television special that shall not be named. The one that makes the The Phantom Menace look good...
It turns out that there is actually something even more frightening lurking in the vinyl vaults of hardcore and/or tasteless Star Wars fans. A very special novelty album created by the producers of the smash hit Star Wars disco album.
Tony Bongiovi and Meco (a producer and trombone player) made bucket loads of cash with their galactic funk. Flush with success and feeling nostalgic they apparently thought what the world needed most was a Christmas album featuring all the heroes of the Star Wars universe.
Unfortunately for us, Han, Leia and Luke couldn't sing, Yoda was too busy being Miss Piggy, and Darth wasn't really in the Christmas spirit. So what we got were R2D2, C-3PO and Chewie.
The result was an album featuring Jon Bongiovis first recording and writing credit, a successful Broadway career, and the perfect gift for shameless Star Wars fans.
