Pro-European parties in Moldova appear to be on course to form a coalition government, following parliamentary elections yesterday. With around 85 percent of the vote counted, the pro EU bloc has opened up a sizeable lead over two pro-Russian parties. With Ukraine still very much on people’s minds, why are people in Moldova looking to the west.

At the Weekend, charges against ex-President Hosni Mubarak over killings during the uprising three years ago have been dropped. Mubarak was originally sentenced to life in jail.
