Today's Webtip: That's not a comet!
Wingnut fans and conspiracy collectors: Heads up!
There is a new kid on the block, and this one is looking good. Not quite as good as the flat-eathers and moonlanding denialists, but it should be worth at least a few minutes of mirth.
Because, you see, the whole Rosetta mission wasn't actually about landing on a comet. As a matter of fact, it's not even a comet. Apparently there are some strangey wangey thing-a-ma-bobs on that there celestial object, and besides, it's singing to us which is obviously actually a telepathic form of communication because the aliens on board don't actually use words.
Either that or it's just humming Flight of The Bumble Bee
Anyway, you can read a bit about it at the Guardian, which should actually save you from going to those places where the wild-things are.
Now who is going to be the first to say it's actually a space whale (because why else would they harpoon it)?
