EU Commission president Juncker and the 27 other EU Commissioners will find out today if they have been accepted by the EU Parliament. This is the second attempt at forming the next EU Commission and the vote is expected to be close.

A truce was announced last week between the Islamic terror group Boko Haram and the Nigerian government. This had raised hopes that the 200 schoolgirls kidnapped 6 months ago could be released. However, the truce does not appear to be holding.
