Today's Webtip: Thor
Some of you may already be aware of this, but things have been changing in the Marvel universe. Thor's hammer is now being wielded by a woman. Disney owns Marvel. Those facts combined tickled the fancy of quite a few people, and the result was a whole mess of silly memes and illustrations. .

Now, before anyone gets too riled up, it should be noted that Thor himself is still male. He just can't wield Mjolnir anymore and the person currently worthy of that right happens to be a woman. But fictional facts can get in the way of having some fun, and the idea of Thor being a Disney princess has certainly generated quite a bit of that.
It's also resulted in a very interesting article written by the historian Ada Palmer. She breaks down the issue into its components, providing some interesting insight into the cultural and business issues involved in defining a Disney princess on the way.
