Reality Check: Iraq: ISIS, Iran and Saudi Arabia

Personal accounts on the situation in Iraq and the potential humanitarian crisis in South Sudan.

South Sudan

Political infighting and tribal rivalries have forced millions of people to flee their homes with the result that little planting has been done. This, of course, will lead to a very poor harvest - if there is one at all.

In today’s programme we speak to Bernhard Helmberger, head of the Austrian Red Cross delegation to South Sudan

Iraq

ISIS forces declare a caliphate in parts of Syria and Iraq, Saudi Arabia increases the number of troops along its border with Iraq and, while the United States is trying to avoid being dragged even further into to the conflict, many see Iran providing military aid to the government in Baghdad.

Tony Cheng has just returned from Iraq and he gives us his assessment of the current situation.
