Today's Webtip: Camping for n00bs
I'm a stadt-mensch.
The thought of wandering around outside with a backpack just makes me panic. Not that I have never camped, it's just that most of my camping experience over the last 20 years has been on the wrong end of a camper at a spawn point.
My years of Boy Scout training seem to have been for naught.
So, confronted with the prospect of trying to share the great out doors with my kids, I did want any sane nerd would do. I hit the web.
Unfortunately, most of the articles I have come across speak to one of two extremes. The knee-sock wearing suburban camper

or the suburban prepper

Neither one left me feeling more inclined to enjoy the "great out of doors".
To be honest, the more I looked the less I liked the thought. I mean, what do you do other than walk around, sweat and swat bugs?
I did eventually find something a little less annoying than the kids and the crazies. Indefinitely Wild has a few posts for beginners on subjects like backpacking, camping and even one on how to sleep outside without a tent.
I think I'm going to take up diving instead.
