Today's Webtip: Cybernetic Kickoff
I missed the beginning pf yesterdays WM game between Brazil and Croatia. Actually, I missed everything before the 11meter that got everyone in my local pub all riled up. The last couple of minutes were pretty intense though, and I didn't even think of asking any of my annoying noob questions because of it.
But it looks like I missed the best part of the game. The kick-off. Because this year the show was opened by a young man in a wheelchair. Well, he started in a wheelchair. He then stood up and kicked the ball. Julian Pinto is a parapalegic who accomplished this feat thanks to the help of an ex-skeleton. A mechanical device that helped him back on to his feet through the power of his thought. In other words, he quite literally controlled his legs by imagining himself kicking the ball.
