Today's Webtip: Capital in the 21st Century

Bill Moyers and Paul Krugman come to terms with our not so new overlords.

Conspiracy theorists have been getting schooled recently. Schooled in the fine art of turning theory into something a bit more substantial. Tinfoil-hat types as well as social and economic justice advocates have spent ages claiming that the U.S. (and many other western democracies) are actually thinly veiled oligarchies. That usually gets dismissed with a laugh and snide comments about getting a job.

But now some more respectable types have gotten on top of things and started putting numbers behind the ideas. A recent study from Princeton and Northwestern Univeristy Profs made headlines recently for claiming the U.S. is already an oligarchy, and Thomas Piketty has found himself with a 700 page best seller about the same subject.

Capital in the 21st Century is the name of it, and Bill Moyers invited Paul Krugman on to his show to talk about it.
