Today's Webtip: 2-factor authentication
It's been a bad year for standard security. Loads of accounts have been compromised, logins and passwords published, and now Heartbleed.
I very nearly lost control of a couple of my accounts, and didn't get any rest until I activated two-factor authentication. That means that any time I try to log in from a new app or computer I have to go through an extra step to actually get in. It's a bit of a nuisance, but better than letting someone get control of sensitive information.
Since I have to go through and change all of my passwords now, it's a perfect time to activate it. You can find out which major sites do that with a little help from twofactorauth.org
