After Crimea joining Russia, eyes are now turning on other Russian enclaves that might also try to go the same way.
Transnistria is an unofficially autonomous region of Moldova, which many people are warning could be next. They held a referendum on the subject in 2006, in which people voted overwhelmingly to join Russia - but at that time, Moscow turned them down.
Moldova-based journalist Daniel Voda explains the views in Transnistria and the rest of Moldova.
