If you consider wandering around Google Maps to be going somewhere, then the good folks at CalTech have put together a tool to help you explore the galaxy.

Photos from the Spitzer Space Telescope have been stitched together into a massive, zoomable panorama. You can choose two view different representations, navigate to some celestial highlights, and even take some snapshots.
