Today's Webtip: Physics!
Writing about science is hard, and I'm not going to try to get on that bus this late in the journey.
I would rather talk about the human interest side of things. Try to imagine that moment when a theoretician is lucky enough to be told that their ideas might actually have been experimentally verified.
I'll wait.
And then I will show you what it looks like to external observers. Stanford sent out a camera crew when Chao-Lin Kuo stopped by Andrei Linde's house to inform him that they found direct evidence supporting his theory of cosmic inflation
Those of you who want a bit more background on cosmic inflation and yesterday's announcement should check out this article on www.slate.com
It's a mindbender.
