UberDanger has a dream job. He gets paid to play video games.
Well, technically he gets paid for making videos and posting them to YouTube, but since he has specialised in doing game videos, I think it's fair to say he gets paid for playing video games. Or, rather, game. He tends to spend most of his time in League of Legends. A massively popular game with an extremely toxic player culture. One that is almost impossible to understand if you aren't immersed in it.
He claims to be able to make between $3-6000 a month, and has taken some time to sit down with Reddit to answer some questions about being a pro.
There is a lot to wade through there, but there is also a lot of information being provided by UberDanger and other redditors, so it might be worth it to actually slog through the whole thing. For those who are just looking from some quick and easy links to info about the business, UD has also posted some guides. One about growing a YT channel and another one that is specifically for people doing gaming videos.
