Taking kitsch from the concert house to the street. One cover at a time.

What do you get when two pretty cello players decide to go rockstar? A bunch of kitschy tracks and sold out arenas. And one or two chuckle inducing music videos that might be worth a look.

While the four stringmen of the Apocalyptica have done well for themselves, with respectable record sales and collaborations with well known rock artists, the two cellists from Croatia have taken their strings to the bigtop. They have been on Glee, the Jay Leno Show, and even Stefan Raab. To top it all off, Elton John is taking them around the world with him.

Their most recent video release is a heavily brocaded version of Thunderstruck by AC/DC.

They have played covers of all sorts of bands, from Michael Jackson to Nirvana and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The video that caught my attention, though, was a cover of Guns'n'Roses. I would never pay to see these two in a stadium, but I would love a chance to see them on the street.
