Today's Webtip: Paranoia?

It turns out the U.S. government really was paying special attention to wikileaks supporters.

Catch 22 was an extremely popular novel among teens and college students in the U.S. during the Vietnam war.

Have you ever read the phrase: "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you"? Well, that's from Catch 22. The book is generally viewed as a critique of beaurocratic process and reasoning. But I'm starting tobelieve at least a few members of that generation might have viewed it as a sort of how-to guide.

One quote in particular seems to explain the NSA extremely well: "Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing."

Both quotes are fairly relevant to the most recent article from Glenn Greenwald. It describes the measures taken against wikileaks and their supporters. You might remember that there were rumors that they had been targeted by the U.S. government for extra special attention after the Collateral Murder leaks.

It turns out they were right.
