Today's Webtip: Genre Crossing

A Motown version of Nickelback, New Orleans Jazz rendition of Guns n Roses and 12 different interpretations of Fever.

I love me a good cover song. But the best ones are those that cross musical Genres. A few big name artists have had serious hits with such projects from Soft Cell with Tainted Love to Johnny Cash performing Hurt by Nine Inch Nails, not to mention all of the artists who have gone on to do covers of those two artists covers.

But some people specialise in cross genre covers. Nouvelle Vague is one example that should be on everyones Valentines Day playlist. Beatalica and Apocalyptica are two that have taken rock into some wonderfully strange places and then we have an up and coming YouTube type.

Scott Bradley. He loves ya, and he seems to love music, and does some absolutely incredible stuff.

I have to admit, a lot of his covers seem to be american top 40 type stuff, so I was missing the connection, but there are a few tracks that even I recognised.

I'm not much of a Nickelback fan, but this version had me giggling.

Fever is one of those songs that never fails to grab me. I don't know how many covers I have heard of it, but it never gets old. Now you can get a feel for 12 different versions of the song. In one Video!

I AM a Guns 'n Roses fan (well, was...) and taking Sweet Child o Mine to New Orleans was a very good idea indeed

It seems like the song only just came out, but Daft Punks Get Lucky wasn't just an award winner. It's already been covered a few million times. And this has to be one of the most curious versions yet.
