Today's Webtip: Flickers of Light

The stories of six people who eased the suffering of others in Auschwitz.

Yesterday was the international day of Holocaust remembrance.

I know that bothers some people. I know because I have heard the complaints. It's not that hard. Just read some comments on the internet.

I understand that some people feel they are being burdened with the weight of the crimes of their ancestors. I also understand that the need for remembrance is not about them.

These things can happen again. Keeping the stories of terror and courage alive are important to help maintain the vigilance needed to keep them in the past. To remind people of what the human race is capable of.

To remind us that we as an individual can make a difference.

Flickers of Light tells the stories of six indivudals who put themselves at risk to provide aid and comfort to others. People who stood true to their belief that “The Jews are people like everybody else.” A simple belief that was enough to land someone in Auschwitz. A belief that these six continued to act upon while there.

A belief that made these people gute Menschen, and Righteous Among the Nations.
