Today's Webtip: Things I Missed
Oh man. I guess I got so caught up in the unfolding story of conspiracy theories come true that I lost sight of my usual collection of weird science stuff.
NOT the hobbyist outsider science that focuses on things like perpetual motion or time dilation or shape based levitation. That's one of those guilty pleasures I prefer to keep to myself. But when the weird goes mainstream it needs to be shared.
And peoples research into levitation has been nothing if not weird.
But even some serious scientists have gotten in on the game. The acceptable areas of research include magnetic, light, and audio based levitation. After a breakthrough was made using standing waves Japanese researchers decided to take it to the next level. Rather than simply suspending objects in mid air, or moving them along two axes, they found a way to take it to the third dimension.
If any of you are wondering what the other side of levitation research looks like, hear is a short presentation of one of my favorites.
Anti-gravity, time dilation and invisibility. Oh my!
